Welcome to the Michigan Museum of Surveying, your online gateway to the history of surveying and mapping in the state of Michigan.  Since the first American settlers came to our state in the early 1800s, precise measurements of private and public lands have helped Michigan grow.  Visit the Michigan Museum of Surveying at our site in Lansing or schedule one of our traveling programs to find out how.
